ABOUT THE AWARD

The INSMA Best Researcher Award recognises the contribution of a researcher towards the development of the sport management scholarship in India.

CRITERIA AND NOMINATION PROCEDURE

The nominee must meet the following:

  1. Demonstrated originality and innovation in research work.
  2. Contributions that challenge conventional theories or practices in the discipline.
  3. Research findings that have practical applications or contribute to solving real-world problems.
  4. Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at prestigious conferences.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate research findings to both specialised and general audiences.
  6. Commitment to ethical standards in conducting and reporting research.

INSMA members can nominate a worthy recipient by submitting a nomination package to the INSMA Governing Body by email to [email protected] with “Best Researcher Award” in the subject line by August 31 in every calendar year. The nomination package should consist of:

  1. A letter of recommendation [no more than three pages] to the Governing Body that specifically describes the person’s accomplishments in relation to the award criteria. The letter should clearly identify the award the person is being nominated for and justify why the person deserves the award.
  2. We encourage up to three [no more than three] letters of support for inclusion in the nomination package.
  3. A resume, CV or brief biography for the nominee (can be pulled from faculty webpage or other online source).

Nominators must be INSMA members in good standing and should email the nomination to the Governing Body. The Governing Body may subsequently request additional information from the nominator. All nominations will be assessed in confidence. The award will be given out during the Annual INSMA Conference.
