One of the strategic objectives of INSMA is to invest its resources in building partnerships that will enable us to leverage partnerships to develop the sport management scholarship in India. Since the foundation of the organisation in 2024, INSMA has forged multiple partnerships leading to research collaborations, policy dialogues and partnerships. The list of our key partners are mentioned below:
Established in 2013 by Dr. Christos Anagnostopoulos, the UNESCO Chair on Governance and Social Responsibility in Sport operates under a joint leadership arrangement between UCLan Cyprus and the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). The primary objective of the chair is to promote research, training, public dialogue, and international cooperation focused on enhancing organizational sport governance and implementing (corporate) social responsibility programs with sport as a central component.
As a part of the collaboration, INSMA will be collaborating with the UNESCO Chair on Governance and Social Responsibility in Sport on multiple research projects and has invited Dr. Anagnostopoulos to deliver the keynote speech for the Indian Sport Management Conference 2024 in Mumbai.
The Carnegie School of Sport at LBU conducts world-leading research and innovation collaborations, including the TaCKLE (tackle and contact kinematics, load and exposure) project led by Professor Ben Jones with the Rugby Football League (RFL) and Minneapolis-based sport tech company, Prevent Biometrics. Prevent’s patented instrumented mouthguard (iMG) technology is deployed across 1000 elite men’s and women’s rugby league players in Super League annually, measuring head accelerations, which can be a cause of concussions. The research has directly informed law changes across rugby league, reducing concussion rates. The research and validation studies undertaken by LBU now provide a global standard for iMG technology, which are used by other sports.
Carnegie School of Sport are one of the largest providers of sports courses in UK higher education covering everything from the science of performance and health to the management of sport. In the 2021 research assessment exercise, Carnegie School of Sport ranked 2nd in the UK for research power by a measure of average research score multiplied by staff numbers submitted. For this, 89 per cent of Carnegie School of Sport’s research was graded 4* ‘world-leading’ and 3* ‘internationally excellent’. Further, 100% of Carnegie School of Sport’s research impact was graded as outstanding and very considerable in terms of reach and significance.
